Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and themSimple ("we", "us") in Malaysia for the Simplest Biz app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

The most important point: Simplest Biz helps you keep records and plan your tax. Its tax figures are estimates, not tax advice, and the app does not file anything with LHDN. You are responsible for your tax return and for checking your figures.

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.
• An account is for one person and the business they run. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.

Simplest Biz lets you record income and expenses, keep receipts and documents, see reports, create quotations and invoices (Plus), and see an estimate of your Malaysian income tax. It is available in English and Bahasa Melayu; invoices, quotations, reports and other documents you create are in English. We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

• Tax figures, guides and e-Filing summaries are for planning only. They are based on what you enter and on our reading of LHDN's rules for each year, including Budget proposals that may still change.
• The app doesn't cover every situation (for example foreign income, joint assessment or selling equipment). LHDN decides your final tax.
• You are responsible for your records, your tax return, paying your tax on time, and keeping documents for as long as the law requires (generally 7 years).
• If you are unsure, check with LHDN or a licensed tax agent before you file.

• You are responsible for what your quotations and invoices say, for having the right to use your clients' details, and for following the rules that apply to your business.
• Invoices made in Simplest Biz are not LHDN e-Invoices and are not submitted to MyInvois. If your business must issue e-Invoices, you need to do that separately.
• To keep your invoice numbers complete, an invoice you have sent can be cancelled but not deleted.
• Sharing happens through apps you choose (such as WhatsApp or email). We don't send messages to your clients for you.

• Simplest Biz offers Standard and Plus subscriptions, monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy.
• New subscribers may get a 1-month free trial, once per Apple ID, or another offer such as an offer code (for example, 2 months free for waitlist members). Offers have their own terms, shown when you redeem them. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before a free period ends, your subscription starts and you are charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• Each plan includes a monthly allowance of receipt and document uploads, shown in the app. Unused uploads don't carry over.
• You may get a discount or extra free time with an offer code, for example one shared by a creator. Apple shows the offer's terms before you confirm. Only one offer applies at a time, and the normal price applies after it ends.
• Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases.
• If your free month or subscription ends, your data stays available to view and download, but you can't add new records until you subscribe again.
• If prices change, Apple will tell you before the new price applies, as its rules require.

• Your records, documents, invoices and other content belong to you.
• You allow us to store and process your content only to provide the app to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Keep your own copies of important records. You can download your reports at any time.

Don't use Simplest Biz to break the law, to record or invoice for illegal activities, to upload content you have no right to share or that is harmful, to try to access other people's accounts or our systems, or to copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it.

The app relies on Apple (App Store, payments and on-device features) and Google Firebase (sign-in and storage). Their availability and terms are outside our control.

• We work hard to keep Simplest Biz accurate, secure and available, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, or for tax, penalties or interest you owe to LHDN.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Simplest Biz in the 12 months before the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or any other law that can't be excluded.

You can stop using Simplest Biz and delete your account at any time in Profile & Settings → Delete account. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your iPhone's Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, for maintenance or support, or for any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, and intellectual property claims). If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, if a change is significant, tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
